The Tashkent Medical Academy has a rich history dating back to 1919, when the Faculty of Medicine was established as part of the Turkestan State University. Over the years, the institution has undergone several transformations, mergers, and rebranding. In 2005, it was renamed from the First and Second Tashkent State Medical Institutes to the Tashkent Medical Academy (TMA) by decree of the President of Uzbekistan.
